Checking the Eggs

Yesterday we visited Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa, and while we were there we checked the eggs:

We also rode the tractor.

And played with a kitty.

Saturday Afternoon Visit

This afternoon, Grandpa Miller, Grandma Lu, and Uncle Steven came over for a visit. It was a little cool outside (thanks to the monsoon weather), so we went for a little walk around our apartment complex:

The girls look a little grumpy because they wanted to run around and play--not pose for pictures.

Tempe Beach Park

Today for our outing we went to Tempe Beach Park to play in the water.

Heidi wasn't too interested. Here, she's banging a rock on the metal railing instead of playing in the water.

Lizzie, however, got quite wet.

MCC

We gave a friend a ride to MCC this week. While we waited for her for about an hour, we explored campus a little bit.

Lizzie was enchanted by this golf cart.

The three of us shared a soda, and on the car ride home Heidi konked out.

Yesterday we went to the park with Grandma Lu and Lu's mom to feed the ducks.

And Sra. Manuela made some yummy mazamorra (a Peruvian treat).

Ellsworth Family BBQ

Last night we had a family barbecue with Aunt Kris, Aunt Nori, Uncle Travis, and Aunt Rachel. We only got one picture:

Heidi was really excited about all the good food--especially the "cookies" (which were actually brownies). She kept going back to the table and helping herself to more food. The brownies were in the back corner of the table--where she couldn't reach--so she ended up grabbing a hamburger (which kind of looks like a brownie) instead. Apparently, Heidi couldn't tell the difference, or at least didn't care. :o)

Zoo Trip

We came across a culture pass to the zoo, so we snatched it up and made one last zoo trip:

By the elephant pen. It was raining, hence the rain jackets. (Lizzie insisted on a wearing a coat, even though it was a warm rain.)

Pretty soon it stopped raining, and then it was just humid, so we had to shed our jackets.

Aunt Kris came along. Yay!

Our first date was to the Phoenix Zoo for Zoo Lights back in November 2007. On our date, we spent a long time here by the zebra pen talking.

Sunday Dinner with Uncle Steven

This picture was taken last Sunday. We were getting dinner on the table (pot roast and trimmings), and Heidi just couldn't wait to dig in:

4th of July

We had kind of an un-traditional 4th. Scott spent the day helping his dad with home improvements, and Emily spent the day packing. Around 6:30 we went out to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. (Salad for the 4th?) But we had fun seeing the turtles, ducks, and fish! :o)

Sorry about the orientation on this one. Try as I may, I can't rotate it! :o)

Last night we went to the 4th of July Celebration in downtown Mesa for a little bit. Heidi and Lizzie especially loved the bounce houses:



Grandpa Miller's Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Grandpa Miller's birthday at a barbecue at his house.
